Emergency Response Meets Operational Technology.

Canadian Info Tech (CIT) concluded its participation at The Emergency Tech Show 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, where the company presented LivePOB as one of its featured technology solutions to emergency-response professionals, industry representatives, search-and-rescue specialists and international organisations.

Held on 16–17 September alongside The Emergency Services Show, the event brought together thousands of professionals focused on emergency response, public safety, resilience and the technologies supporting frontline operations.

The audience included representatives from police, fire and rescue, ambulance services, government, resilience organisations, local authorities, security organisations and technology companies.

More Than a Presentation

LivePOB Was Demonstrated Live at the Stand.

CIT showed visitors how individuals can report themselves SAFE or NEED HELP during an emergency and provide their reported location.

This gives response teams actionable information about who may require assistance and where.

One Problem · Very Different Environments

Emergency Accountability Across Very Different Operations.

Conversations at Birmingham demonstrated just how widely the personnel-accountability challenge applies.

01 · Industrial Operations

Large Workforces. Contractors. Multiple Locations.

Among the visitors engaging with Canadian Info Tech was a representative from Tata Power in India, who discussed the potential relevance of LivePOB to large operational environments.

Accountability becomes increasingly complex when operations involve large workforces, contractors, multiple sites and people moving across operational areas.

02 · Search & Rescue

Account for the Responders Entering the Emergency.

Search-and-rescue personnel may deploy into damaged, unstable and rapidly changing environments during earthquake or disaster response.

Personnel accountability is therefore not only about those affected by an incident. Organisations must account for responders too.

03 · Humanitarian Operations

Protect the People Who Travel the World to Help Others.

Humanitarian personnel may work far from headquarters in areas affected by disasters, conflict, infrastructure failures or other unpredictable conditions.

Where suitable internet connectivity exists, personnel can report from the location where they are.

A Question Raised During the Event
Who is looking after the people who travelled there to help everyone else?

International Humanitarian Response

Accountability Beyond Headquarters and Facilities.

Canadian Info Tech also met representatives connected with international nonprofit and humanitarian organisations whose personnel deploy to support communities around the world.

LivePOB can provide deployed personnel with a mechanism to report their status and, when assistance is required, provide their reported location.

The concept is not dependent on the individual being inside a particular facility or standing at a designated muster point.

Rethinking the Muster Point

Don't Ask Only: “Who Reached the Muster Point?”

LivePOB introduces a different set of questions for emergency response teams.

01

Who is safe?

02

Who needs help?

03

Who has not yet reported?

04

Where was their status reported from?

A person who is injured, trapped, sheltering from danger or operating kilometres away from a conventional muster point may be precisely the person emergency teams need information from most.

Their ability to report their status should not depend on their ability to physically reach a muster point.

Technology Without Operational Boundaries

Emergency Personnel Accountability Should Follow the Person.

Whether that person is working at a major industrial operation, entering an earthquake zone as part of a rescue team, or providing humanitarian assistance thousands of kilometres from headquarters, the fundamental requirement remains the same.

The Fundamental Requirement
Establish who is safe, identify who needs help, and provide responders with information that can help them act.

Beyond Birmingham

Conversations That Continue Beyond the Event.

Canadian Info Tech will continue discussions initiated during The Emergency Tech Show as it explores further applications and potential deployments of LivePOB across industrial, emergency-response and humanitarian environments.
